The genesis of BKexpress lies with the group of bankruptcy attorneys that make up the American Consumer Bankruptcy College (ACBC ). Seeing that in the post-BAPCPA consumer bankruptcy world the most efficient law firms would be those that excelled, the ACBC joined efforts with OTB Consulting's Tom Rowe, one of the top legal practice management consultants in the US, to create a system that would enable their membership to better manage their practices and measure their performance. 3 years of effort and investment by the ACBC and OTB laid the foundation for the system. Subsequently, through surveys, questionnaires and interaction with a number of NACBA members, the system was honed to work for filers of all sizes - from solos and small firms to volume filers. In use by several ACBC members since early 2006, in the Fall of 2008 BKexpress was rolled out to other firms within and outside the ACBC, and is now used by dozens of firms of all sizes througout the US. Because the consumer bankruptcy market is constantly evolving due to the changing economy, the actions of law makers, the courts and trustees, and the attorneys who dedicate their time, effort and passion to assist those in dire financial straights, development of BKexpress will be an ongoing process.
