Whether to upgrade is a cost-benefit decision. Among the factors to consider are: |

Time Matters v. 12 Released |
|
Time Matters v. 12 was released in mid-December, and you may have received an email from Lexis with upgrade instructions. OTB has been testing Time Matters v. 12 to make sure there are no problems. After our in-house testing, we will upgrade a few firms and let them run it in production for a few weeks to give it the acid test before we pronounce it “Ready for Prime Time”. If you would like to be one of the first to upgrade let us know. |

Time Matters MatterNo. Reset Reminder |
|
If your firm has configured Time Matters to automatically number your matters (which may also be labeled “cases” or “files”) using the year as part of the case/matter no., such as “2012-5488,” then you will probably want to reset the next matter no. part of the number on Jan. 1 so that the number resets to “2013-0001” (or whatever your year and no. format is). Otherwise, although the year will change automatically, based on your computer’s system date, the case/matter no. part of the number will continue to increment based on the last case/matter no. that was created in 2012. To reset the case/matter number, click File > Setup > Program Level Setup > Forms > Case/Matter > Options: Under Set Formula for Generating Automatic File Numbers > Project Number Next Number, enter “1”. Time Matters will automatically pad zeros to the left of the number so that the number that is generated is in the right format, such as 2013-00001. Let us know if you have any questions. |
